Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026

This policy explains which personal data we process when you visit this website or get in touch with us, why we do so, and what your rights are. It follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law No. 13,709/2018).

In short

1. Who is responsible

The controller responsible for processing your personal data is:

Parallelneuron, Unipessoal Lda.
Travessa Sá e Melo, 550, 3Dto
4470-116 Maia - Porto
Portugal
Email: contato@parallelneuron.com

For anything concerning your personal data, including exercising your rights, write to contato@parallelneuron.com. This is our contact channel for data subjects.

2. When you visit the website

The website is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Its files are stored in the AWS region in Ireland (European Union) and delivered by the Amazon CloudFront content delivery network, which answers each request from a server near you, which may be outside the EU and Brazil.

To display the pages, your browser automatically sends technical data to these servers, such as your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, your browser type and version, and your language preferences. We use the language preferences only at the moment of the request, to show the English version to browsers set to English only.

We keep no access logs of visits and build no visitor profiles. AWS, as our processor, handles this data only to deliver the website and protect it against abuse and attacks.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing the website securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; Art. 7, IX LGPD).

3. Cookies and local storage

We use no tracking, analytics or advertising cookies. The website only uses:

Name Type Purpose Duration
lang First-party cookie, essential Remembers the language you chose. It is only set when you switch language with PT/EN, and contains nothing but pt or en. 1 year
cookie-notice-dismissed Browser local storage (localStorage), essential Remembers that you have seen the cookie notice. It stays in your browser and is never sent to the server. Until you delete it

Both are strictly necessary for features you ask for, so they do not require consent. We still tell you about them in the notice shown on your first visit. You can delete them at any time in your browser settings, and the website keeps working normally.

4. Contact form

When you send us a message through the form, we process:

Purpose: to reply to your enquiry and, if you wish, to follow up with a proposal or contract.

Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; Art. 7, I LGPD) and steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR; Art. 7, V LGPD). The IP address and user agent are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in protecting the form against abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; Art. 7, IX LGPD).

Providing your data is voluntary, but without your name and email we cannot reply to you.

Where it is kept: messages are stored, encrypted, in an AWS database (Amazon DynamoDB) in Ireland, and a copy is emailed (Amazon Simple Email Service, also in Ireland) to our inbox.

For how long: we keep the data as long as needed to handle your enquiry. If it leads to a business relationship, the data becomes part of it and is kept for the duration of that relationship and for the periods required by law (for example, tax and accounting obligations). Otherwise, we delete it once it is no longer needed, or earlier if you withdraw your consent or ask us to delete it. Database backups are kept for at most 35 days.

5. Contact by email

Messages sent to contato@parallelneuron.com are received by Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) in Ireland, which checks them for spam and viruses. We keep a copy of each message (sender, recipient, subject, content, attachments and the results of those checks) at AWS in Ireland (Amazon S3 and Amazon DynamoDB), and forward it to our inbox at our email provider. Messages identified as spam, viruses or from a forged sender are not forwarded.

Purpose and legal basis: to reply to your message and, where relevant, to follow up with a proposal or contract (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR; Art. 7, V and IX LGPD).

For how long: the copy at AWS is deleted automatically after 90 days. The copy in our inbox follows the criteria described for the contact form.

6. Who else receives the data

We never sell or rent personal data. Only these parties have access to it:

7. International transfers

Contact form data and email messages are stored in the European Union (Ireland). For people in the EU, the data stays in the EU; if AWS group companies outside the EU get access to it (for example, for support or security), the transfer is protected by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, which are part of the AWS data processing addendum. For people contacting us from Brazil, storage in the EU is an international transfer, needed to handle your enquiry (Art. 33, IX LGPD). Page delivery by CloudFront may come from servers in other countries, as described in section 2.

8. Your rights

At any time and free of charge, you can:

The same rights apply under Art. 18 LGPD. To exercise them, write to contato@parallelneuron.com. We will reply as soon as possible, and always within the legal deadlines.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in Portugal, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD) at www.cnpd.pt, or the authority of the EU country where you live or work; in Brazil, the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) at www.gov.br/anpd.

9. Security

All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Data is stored encrypted, access is limited to those who need it, and the form is protected against abuse by request limits and a web application firewall.

10. Automated decisions

We make no automated decisions and build no profiles with your data.

11. Children

This website is aimed at businesses and professionals, not children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

12. Changes

We may update this policy when the website or the law changes. The date of the last update is at the top of this page, and the version you accept in the contact form is recorded with your message.
